how loose or baggy should snowboard pants be?

i tried a medium and there was a lot of leg room and it was baggy kinda like skater pants and the waist was fine but overall length kinda long. i tried a small and it was tight around the waist but the length was just right and fit well around leg. waist was really tight where it would be better to just zip but not button but heard i dont want snow to get in.

1. try a different brand or get the medium and roll the ends a bit you will need more leg room to move around and get up if you fall over and if you have one with a too small waist it will get uncomfortable after a while
