- Wrap something in plastic bags... you will be the coolest kid on the mountain... The reson why snowboarding pants are snowboarding pants are because they are waterproof, they can still breath and they fit with your boots and bindings and still look ok. If you have other pants that are waterproof, they probably aren't waterproof enough and you can expect to have a cold wet a$$ and then you will go spend the money to get the proper equipment... or atleast hire it. To the person below, I totally agree with not buying pants if its your first time... But I would still rent them just for the comfort of not having to drive home soaked.
- yes, like he said, even if u have a waterproof pant, water will pass anyway and your buttt will get wet... but that's ok , its not the end of the world if you just gonna do it once or times... however, if you snowboard regularly i highly recommend you to buy snowboard pants, that way you wont get wet.... that s why snowboard pants are so expensive, cause they re super waterproof.. btw, ive done snowboard with normal waterproof pants, it s really ok, just more uncomfortable, but as i said, if it s your first time, dont even thing about buying real pants, its not worth it
- Go to a local thrift shop or second hand store. They usually have pants for pennies on the dollar especially around the end of the season like now.. You really can't beat snowboarding pants.. They will keep you warm and dry. If you let yourself get too wet in the cold especially on the legs or some other large portion of the body for an extended amount of time you could go hypodermic and then you're in trouble.
- You can get snowboard pants for £30. If your going to spend that much going on a hol then you'll want to do a lot of riding. Snowboard pants make a big difference to keeping you dry and warm. Otherwise you'll spend half the time having hot chocolate next to a fire.
