Ladies Ski Pants

Is just a thermal/Under Armour enough to wear under snowboarding jacket and pants?

I am kinda new to snowboarding, last year I wore leggings and long pants, and lots of shirt layers. This year, I am upping my gear-I plan on getting maybe a Burton or such coat and pants. Since these are much better insulated, I was wondering if just a thermal shirt and leggings/pants(like Hot Chillys or Under Armour) would be enough underneath the jacket and pants? No other layers? I would love to just wear this, I don't get cold too easily and hate feeling bulky...

  1. i used to do the same thing as you with layering all the clothing, but it was a smart choice to start wearing Under Armour. Unfortunately, from experience, this is not enough. I know some people that ride under armour with just a tee shirt over it and than a jacket. I do recommend getting a snowboarding jacket because they are the best in the world I promise you. Also snowboarding pants are a necessary as well. They really help. You can wear them with pajama pants underneath and you will never get cold. I recommend doing this.
  2. no, i wear under armour clothing exclusively and on most days i wear the cold gear base 3.0 a sweatshirt and a jacket on top and the base a pair of fleece pants and then snow pants on the bottom, on real cold days when its well below zero i'll add an extra sweatshirt and pair of fleece pants but i never wear just the base and the outerwear you're making a good choice, under armour is top of the line and you will notice the difference don't buy an off brand of under armour, its not the same
  3. should be enough I just wear long sleave shirt and pants underneath jacket and snowboarding pants. Once I wore a hoodie instead of jacket. I was warm enough but my hoodie got a little wet.
  4. depends were u live and how hot it gets nubb
  5. its hard to answer because the weather can be light or pretty damn cold. for the most part i wear under armour or leggings under my snow pants and if it gets too cold i'll add sweat pants. for my coat when its beginning or late season i'll wear just a tshirt underneath. once it gets colder i'll wear under armour and a sweatshirt. but it all depends on the weather. in general under armours perfect!
