Ladies Ski Pants

Would brown snowboard pants go with my purple coat?

I have a plum colored snowboarding coat with a black plaid pattern on it and I need new snowboard pants this year. I thought about getting black pants because they would prolly match better but I'm not into black, plus my boots and bindings are already black. I want some color in my outfit so how about some brown pants or would that look bad? I need some other opinions on this! My coat is not super puple; it's more plum colored, like grayish purple if that helps.
