- Well just so you know, Burton has a reputation for being overpriced. Any good shell is a good snowboarding Jacket. it doesnt have to be specifically for snowboarding. Most basic snowboarding jackets are overpriced because youre paying for the label. If youre buying a more top of the line jacket from a snowboarding company then the jacket is probably worth the money but most of the basic stuff is just overpriced. (burton is an exception to this as even their top of the line jackets are over priced) Here are some quality companies to buy a Jacket from Arcteryx Moutain Hardwear Patagonia Marmot Columbia The North Face is a company that would fit in this list but it has the same problem as burton Now if youre really set on a Snowboarding Jacket heres a list of companies you may want to think about as well Volcom Quicksilver (owns GNU, Roxy, DC, Hawk, and Lib Tech) Burton (owns Forum) Sims These are some well known ski companies that now make boards as well Rossignol K2 (owns marmot, Ride, Morrow, 5150, Volkl, and liquid) Salomon (owns arcteryx) Head Dynastar Cloudveil hate to tell ya but a really nice jacket is defined differntly by the person youre asking as well as the activity youre doing. Ill tell you what jacket i own tho. The Cloudveil RPK, its a really nice jacket but very pricy. i only chose it cuz i worked at the store and got the discount. Good luck!
